The peat slabs are a purely natural product. They consist of so-called white peat, i.e. the fibres of the peat moss from which the peat is formed are still visible. The fibers provide plants with good support and moisture and can be used as a floor covering as well as a naturally greening back wall. However, the material is not suitable for a back wall with water flowing through it! The humic acid in white peat ensures a low pH value of 3 - 4, ensuring that even permanently damp slabs do not become moldy and only decompose very slowly. With constant moistening, the slab will green itself. You can accelerate the growth of the slab by rubbing the damp slab with living moss. Tip: As peat is very low in nutrients, you should ensure that higher plants are sufficiently fertilized or only cultivate acid-loving species.
