The ballast from Lucky Reptile is a so-called multi-wattage ballast that covers three different wattage variants. 35 watts, 50 watts and 70 watts.

This is also the concise difference to the previous model, which is just now the possibility to operate Bright Sun lamps of different wattage on one ballast. A slide switch on the side of the ballast can be used to conveniently set the desired "wattage". This makes it easy to change from a small to a larger terrarium. Or seasons can be simulated when changing lamps.

The ballasts are specially designed for the corresponding lamps, because the ballasts influence the light spectrum and therefore the UV range. The Bright Control Pro 3 was created by Lucky Reptile and Philips for use with the Bright Sun lamps. With other ballasts, including those from Philips, there can be shifts in the light spectrum, especially with regard to the UV output. This has been confirmed by independent measurements.
